Come into the fold - Great Place Lakes & Dales

Get ready to come into The FOLD – an exciting new cultural programme of three week pop ups for 2020.

Locally based steering groups in each of the three host towns – Settle, Bentham and Kendal – including 14 to 21-year-olds working alongside experienced curators, are busy shaping The FOLD ready for touring in the Spring.

The FOLD will feature creative events from music and making to design and debating. Following an open call before Christmas, artists and cultural practitioners are lining up to run workshops and activities during the project.

Workshops, open mics, theatre and film are expected to appeal to the steering groups, as well as activities designed to boost confidence, such as public speaking.

The FOLD is being run for us by Deco Publique, the experts behind The National Festival of Making and Vintage By The Sea, who also work closely with GPLD ambassador and well-known British designer Wayne Hemingway.
