We’re very excited to see the full return of festivals this year and to experience all the incredible talent the Lakes and Dales has on offer. Kicking us off was Hinterlands which took place on 13th – 15th May followed by Kendal Poetry Festival on 23rd – 26thJune, Grassington Festival and Skipton Sheep Day on Sunday 26th June.

July is a busy month for events, with Skipton’s first Pride Festival which took place on Sat 2nd July with a series of run up events which took place at Skipton Town Hall and Eskfest which took place on 8th July weekend. There’s also 42 Degrees Festival, Kendal Calling and Yorkshire Dales Food and Drink Festival all taking place this month.

This August, Aerial Festival is partnering up with Sea Power to produce Krakenhaus Festival, now in its second year! Set at the beautiful Muncaster Castle, there’s a huge range of fantastic acts, readings, talks and DJs as well as plenty of other activities taking place in the castle grounds.

Later in the autumn we can look forward to Yarndale, Kendal Torchlight Festival, Kendal Mountain Festival, Lakes International Comic Art Festival and Yorkshire Festival of Story so there’s a lot of ways to celebrate the region’s arts and culture this year and celebrate our local talent and beautiful area.
