Name: Manon Keir
Role? Programme support officer. I am behind the scenes, making sure everything ticks along and I am the first point of contact for people getting in touch with the project.
Where is your Great Place within the Lakes and Dales and why? My garden! We have only been in our house since March and I am loving being able to spend time in the garden. I can hear curlews from it and it’s a special space.
Who, what or where inspires you? Listening to all the many younger people I’ve met through the GPLD project who have started their own businesses and have the drive to look to the future and do something proactive in order to lead the lives they aspire to.
What’s your ideal day? Breakfast in Cooper’s in Skipton, a walk in the park, chatting to people and the evening in my garden.
Favourite event or place of interest in the Lakes and Dales? I get to see so many gorgeous places in the Lakes and Dales, I want to say all of them! I love comedy so I’ve really enjoyed Grassington Festival. I can’t wait to go to Lakes Alive because I’ve heard such good things about it.
Active or chilled (or both!)? Absolutely both! I like to go for a walk up a hill, enjoy the view, have a picnic on the top and a pint at the bottom.
Hidden gem? I love Gordale Scar.
